Annoying narration
Don’t enjoy the narration of this at all!! It’s overly animated and actually quite annoying. My daughter doesn’t mind it but does lose interest quite quickly. It’s also frustrating how it takes 20 seconds or so to even get to the story because of the introduction. The song is fine, but for a 2 track Tonie, it’s not worth buying. Such a shame given the popularity of the book
Lola loves the Gruffalo !
My granddaughter is such a huge fan of the Gruffalo and absolutely adores this Tonie. A great story you never get tired of and at 18 months she can chose and play independently which is such a good way to learn.
Fragile
My wee one loves this story but the actual Tonie figure is quite fragile. One of the tusks has broken and he now refuses to play it....🫠

my 2 year old is obsessed with this tonie and it has her giggling. although a bit of the narration isn’t the best and i wish she did it a bit more ‘normal’. for the price, the duration could’ve been longer.
Far better tonies available, terrible narration
Our little one adores her toniebox but this one NEVER gets played, even though she loves the Gruffalo story. The voices and narration are terrible and in parts really verging on a little scary! Would not have bought if we'd known, and would not recommend.

Great Tonie
Absolutely love this Tonie! My daughter loves the different voices the narrator makes when switching characters, she loves the sound effects like that rattling snake and she loves loves the songs (even though they are a bit off pitch for my taste). I would highly recommend
Worth buying, but bad narration.
This story has been a favourite of my little girl’s for a while. However, as others have mentioned, the narration and character voices are sadly not what you would expect. The voices Imelda puts on are very annoying and don’t really fit the story, in my opinion. So just bear that in mind when purchasing! My daughter on the other hand, doesn’t notice that the voices aren’t great, as I’m sure many other younger kids/toddlers wouldn’t! So it’s worth buying it that respect.

The voices are terrible. Grafalo sounds like he is stupid while the mouse doesn’t sound bright, more like trying to improvise on the spot. Clashes with the outsmarting idea. Voices are terrible, I can’t stand it.
Really quiet and short
Really disappointed with this one. It’s extremely quiet and the song isn’t great. It’s also a really short tonie compared to Tabby Mctat for example. My son never wants this one when I let him choose.

My 3 year old loves the Gruffallo but this Tonie is a huge ddisappoint as he is terrified of it. Scary music and not narrated well. Run time also very short.

I love this Tonie . It’s a really great engaging telling of the great book. My 9 month old looks at the Tonie box numerous times throughout the story. The song is very catchy too!
Bad. I mean, really bad.
If ever there was a recorded piece of audio that would make you want to gouge your own eyes out and stuff them forcibly into your ear canals, then this is it. Calling it ‘awful’ would be kind. The narration of this story could only fall under the lesser-used category of ‘wretchedly loathsome and outright vomit-inducing’. For gods sake, and for your own sanity’s sake, do not purchase this. The voice of the mouse will forever haunt your soul and you will wish you were never born into this terrible, terrible world.
