Turtle By Nuna Capsule + Base Black

Got this capsule to go with our stroller but my daughter absolutely hates it, when we try get the belt padding to her neck so the straps don’t cut into her neck she screams and the head part seems to push her head forward cause her chin to fall to her chest. It’s also really annoying to take the belt from the base over the canopy when removing the capsule from its base. The base and capsule is also bigger then usual capsules so it doesn’t leave much room for the front seat passenger. Would not recommend! Baby bunting also do not offer exchanges for a different capsule even though I’ve shown them how unsafe my baby is in it so would not recommend this capsule at all especially for the price you pay for it!

We purchased this for our newborn daughter because we liked the fact that the capsule could connect to our Bugaboo Donkey & we thought the safety features noted were just what we wanted to feel confident. What a big mistake! It worked for the first trip home from the hospital and that’s it! Every single trip afterwards she would bawl her eyes out and scream. She looked incredibly squashed and awkward. She was on a weird angle and as people have mentioned, her chin was touching her chest. I felt horrible putting her in the seat and actually had anxiety when it came to driving, so I avoided it. She was also only 2 months and her legs were almost hanging off the edge, there is no way this would last until 12 months. We have since purchased a new seat and she is already much more calm and relaxed.

Comfort and safety were a priority for my new born and this ticked all the boxes. My baby loves the capsule and drifts off to sleep easily. Its lightweight to lift out and transfer baby to the pram, shopping trolley or carry. The options to fix the capsule to the car were great. I only found the capsule didn't allow the passenger in front of it much space.

Terrible capsule and bad design. Baby was chin to chest every time we went in the car, held his breath a few times that I had to pull over and take him out. The teather strap is so hard to get around the capsule that I almost have to lift the whole seat and base up to get it around. Once you start to raise the head rest there is a gap in the material and my boy hated this and would scream. I contacted Bugaboo to get a refund as this should not be allowed to be ok the market. Same issues with Nuna Klik and Joie-Gemm capsules. Got a new Maxi Cosi Mico 12 and me and my baby love it

Terrible, shouldn’t be on the market! My baby starts screaming the moment his in it, when normally his a super chill baby, barely ever cry’s especially that way. I’d have so much anxiety using it that I would sit in the back while my partner drove. I wouldn’t leave the house any other way. Not only was he positioned incorrectly every bump in the road would make him cry louder. I went back to the store with my concerns and they told me he probably just hates the car. Untrue. I purchased another seat at his young age of 6 weeks old. Fell asleep instantly and we had a enjoyable 2.5hour drive completely stress free. I’m glad I trusted my instincts and purchased another. Complete waste of money, and in my opinion sooo unsafe, blocks baby’s airways. His mouth couldn’t even open wide enough to fit a dummy in. Stay clear. I wouldn’t even give the seat away.

For the first month, this capsule did the job. From 2-3 months, our baby absolutely hated it. Not sure why - either he is fussy or it's not comfortable. We now have to buy a new car seat for him.

Absolute crap! My newborn baby cries every time I put him in this capsule. The way it’s designed has Bubs neck forward so his chin is to his chest. This is my second child and we had the maxi cosi mico plus capsule with my first and he was able to lay comfortably and fall asleep within minutes. I would not recommend this to any parent. Should be taken off the market and redesigned.

My baby is now 4.5 months and I’ve avoided using this as much as possible. The positioning of the baby in the seat is terrible and possibly dangerous because of the chin to chest. The head piece is so rigid she can barely move her head and screams every time. It makes me so anxious using it. I would never purchase this one again. I also don’t see how she is going to fit in this seat up to 6 months. I’m already needing to upgrade. My partner has the Nuna Rava which converts from newborn up to 5 or 6 and is much better.

I hope by writing this review, I'll save someone from making the huge mistake in buying this car seat. I wish I had never bought it and I'm honestly disappointed with myself that I took so long to trust my instincts and stop using it. The main reasons being Comfort: Terrible My baby screamed from day 1 when she went in the seat. Used it for 6 months and it never got any better. The position is chlostrophonic. Just fyi she loves every other seat she goes in, including a conventional car seat Safety: completely unsafe Even with the tether strap, it feels rickety, shakey and insecure. What's even worse is baby positioning. They are lied down with their head pitched forward, so it limits their breathing. I honestly can't believe this passed safety standards, because it shouldn't have Convenience: a complete lie The tether strap isn't down fully on displays. It makes it near impossible to get the seat in and out without baby waking. So the sales pitch of putting baby in and out of the car without waking is a complete lie. Please please don't buy this seat.

Highly recommend for newborns and premature babies Our little girl 2.510 kgs fits sung in the capsule, I feel reassured she is safe & strapped in. Love that the capsule can clip into our Bugaboo Cameleon we purchased the attachments. Highly recommend 👏🏼

We have a lot of trouble getting our baby in and out of this- it seems the strap doesnt have a lot of adjustment in it. As a result have hardly used the car. Once in it is hard to see if she's comfortable- she seems very squished. Online there is very little info- their videos are US or euro and the product seems quite different. I would definitely consider another product. 'On the plus side it fits the fox 5 base etc, and thats great. I also had to install with a towel underneath to get it level. Also the retaining strap across the top is difficult to fit.

My 4 month old doesn’t settle well in this capsule. VERY rarely will she be seated in comfort, I’ve come to a point where I dread driving because of how irritated she gets. Thought to myself that I would actually come on and check reviews to see if anyone else has this issue, I am so disappointed that I hadn’t checked before buying because it seems that a lot of parents agree on how ridiculous this capsule is, chin to chest.. the posture is just not right and if god forbid an accident happens, this capsule won’t be a benefit to the safety of your child. Looking at purchasing a new one and very annoyed that considering the amount of bad review this one has, that the staff still has it on the floors and suggest as ‘great capsule’

We bought this capsule to go with our son’s Bugaboo pram. It’s a terrible design. It slots nearly into the pram adapters… that’s the only positive thing I have to say about it. Even from birth, his poor head was squashed by the side protection panels. Because he couldn’t turn his head to the side (unlike in other capsules) his chin would repeatedly end up against his chest. This was so anxiety inducing because we knew it was reducing his oxygen supply. I hated this capsule and I’ve thrown it out (won’t even resell it).

This capsule is dangerous. I have rarely used this since my son was born 4 months ago due to dangerous chin to chest head positioning and after an incident today when my son went bright red and couldn’t breathe I will never use it again. I had checked that this capsule met Australian safety standards before purchasing and ultimately bought it because it was recommended by staff but I wish I had read reviews as now I know so many parents have experienced the same issue. It should not be sold in Australia and I hope Nuna and bugaboo see these reviews and review their product.
