Nature Sense Single Electric Breast Pump

I have had this pump 4 months EP. It can’t be taken off charge or it immediate goes down in battery. This results in the machine losing suction power immediately. The flange is completely covered in milk after the first few pumps no matter how dry the parts are before the pump. I got this pump 50% off and I wouldn’t even buy it again for that price. Avoid this pump at all costs

The pump comes in a cute compact box, I like that it's easy to set up and not too many pieces to put together for assembling. The set up process itself was very quick and easy, great for first time mums! I love that the pump isn't too heavy or bulky like other ones I've used previously. It's also not too noisy either which is good for those late nights of expressing or if you are out and about. It's also beneficial that it's rechargeable. The shield was a bit to small to fit on my nipples, it would have been good if there was a smaller option included. It was still manageable to use though for short period of time. I like that it lights up so you can use it as a lamp at night. Overall its a great product, this is the first time i've used a single pump and have to say I much prefer a double especially the first few months postpartum when expressing more frequently. It's great for first time mothers who want something quick and easy.

It’s easy to charge and lengthy power cord is so handy when you need to charge it. The buttons were quite sensitive on the machine so you have to be pretty careful if you’re knock it as it can sometimes turn off. I liked that the machine was quiet and that it also had a range of strength which was easy to adjust. It’s so easy to pack if you are going travelling and is very convenient as you don’t need it to be connected to power which I find to be a massive bonus. You can pretty much express anywhere. No need to look for a power point. It would be nice if it came with 2 bottles instead of 1. Would be nice to have one spare if you need. The bottles are a little bit small so would be great to make the bottles a big bigger so you don’t need to stop in between. It would be nice to have a more secure connector from the tube to the machine as I feel like in time that will start to loosen its grip. Loved that it came with more than 1 filter for the pump so there were spares and they are easy to attach and detach. I found the breast shield a bit small. I had to press it onto my chest a bit more as it would allow air inside and stop working. I liked the blue light on the machine so it wasn’t so bright especially if you’re near other children in the middle of the night expressing and it won’t wake them. The parts were easy to assemble and wash and put back together which I find very handy. Loved that it wasn’t too fiddly. Loved the handle on the machine to pop around your wrist incase you need to move or just carrying it around as it’s quite rounded when you pick it up and could easily be dropped so this was helpful. A good pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was quite surprised with how large the unit was but was impressed with the ease of use. I like that there is a lit up display which is helpful for monitoring your pumping time and suction levels. The breast shield I think is a bit small that I find small splatters above the shield when I'm pumping unless I firmly press it on the breast. However, I am impressed on how powerful it is considering it only takes me 15 mins to express 150ml compared to 30mins using my current breast pump. I find that the buttons are quite sensitive that when I have to move, it accidentally turns the unit off. I love that it is rechargeable and the usb power cord is long enough for easy charging. I wish the the tube connector to the unit is more stable as I find that it can be quite loose. I like the wide necked and base of the bottle however I wish it was larger than 150ml. I wish it came with some milk storage bags to use. All in all, it is a great unit for first time mums and if you are wanting to express on the side.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once first opening the Nuk single pump my initial thought was it's a tad large and heavy for a single portable pump in comparison to some other brands. I found the setup and instructions very easy navigate and the pump quite easy to use. The display screen when using at night wasn't too bright or the machine wasn't overly noisy so I was able to use without waking my sleeping partner. It seemed to have great suction and for a very responsible price. The machine held it's charge well and having the USB charger made it very portable and easy to take anywhere. The buttons were quite sensitive though and not much pressure was needed for settings to change so if your bending over or doing a bit of moving about (thanks to one little toddler) I found some of the settings would change if I hadn't noticed it flipped over the wrong way. It did seem that you need to contact the supplier via email or phone for spare parts which may be a bit of a pain especially if you may be an exclusive pumper. Once on the website there didn't seem to be a spare parts list available for review just in case the breast shield for example was the incorrect size for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this pump! It is literally the best breast pump I have ever used. Set up was very simple, the instructions are very well laid out and easy to read. It took me no time to get it all started. I love that it comes with a couple of extra parts as well in case something happens. I found it very gentle even on a higher speed. The silicone shield is so soft and I love that the suction is more like a massage then the pulling as with previous pumps I have used. The battery life is amazing. I used it a few times and the battery is still at full charge! It’s very quiet, even my husband commented when he heard it on how quiet it was. I was able to pump 30mls in less than 10 mins! That may not seem like a lot but I am 19months into my breastfeeding journey and do not pump regularly. Last time I tried to pump with my other pump I literally only got a few drops so I was so happy to see so much flow out. I don’t think I really have anything negative to say about this pump at all. I love the look of it, the different functions are great and it really works so well. Very impressed! Would recommend this as a must buy to all breast feeding mums!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pump as being part of a trial team. I was immediately impressed with the compact lightweight design. For a small size pump, it provided strong suction and was overall very straight forward to operate. The display is very simple to understand, showing the timer, battery, speed and suction power. The pause and memory buttons are very good features that I have not seen in other pumps. If for any reason, you had to pause your pumping, the timer pauses as well and continues to count when you resume back. The only downside of the NUK pump is the oddly curved designed flange which does not sit flush on the breast which causes milk to splash out where the flange does not cover. You need to press the flange firmly to the breast to ensure there is no gap. This can be uncomfortable though. Maybe a flange with a more circular design and in different sizes could make it better. I continued to use the pump without the silicon cushion and found that it worked better for me and without the milky back splash mess. I would recommend the NUK for mums who need a portable pump on the go, probably not suitable for heavy everyday use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed when I opened the box for the breast pump, seeing that there wasn’t a lot of parts only what you needed. I had a quick read through of the instructions but didn’t really need to as it was all pretty self explanatory. The design is sleep and simple. I really do like the fact that it’s portable and you’re not stuck near a Power point to be able to use it. It holds the charge really quiet well. It’s easy to put together. On use I like that you’re able to select a different suction strength and length to suit you, however I did think maybe it could have used a little bit more suction strength. It only has one breast shield which I could possible have used a smaller one, although this one is comfortable and doesn’t cause any discomfort at all. It also has a timer on the screen so you are able to see how long you’re pumping for which is really handy. Overall I just find the design and the pump great value and very user friendly. I have used a lot of other pumps in the past but think this one is the easiest to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This breast pump was given to me as part of a trial team event, and when I received it my initial impressions were that it was a bit too bulky to be portable or travelling with. Other than that it is sleek, the pump action is very quiet and discreet (especially if pumping at night near a sleeping partner!) and the strong suction helped to imitate baby’s suck very well. In terms of holding a charge, it lasted a long time once I’d fully charged it, And was quick to get a bit of power back once plugged in, which was great for pumping where I was moving away from power outlets and couldn’t have it plugged in. The user interface was very easy to grasp, the buttons are very straightforward even without reading the instructions which made Initial set up very easy, and this pump has a memory function so when I next turned it on it remembered my preference which was great! The screen itself was bright enough to see in dim lighting too. The only complaint I have aside from size is cleaning! I hate having to wash out the tiny tubes, but it got easier with practice. I did love that you could pump directly into Nuk bottles too. Overall 4/5 stars!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On first impression the Nuk Nature Sense breast pump has a sleek modern design, it’s attractive to look at and intuitive to use. After cleaning and sanitizing all the parts and charging the pump I simply followed the instructions to set it up and put it to use straight away. The silicon cushion breast shield does make for a comfortable time using the pump, this was definitely a highlight. I found the different levels for speed and strength of suction meant I could match my baby’s suck quite accurately. It’s also not too loud compared to the Spectra portable electric breast pump which I’ve previously used. The only downside for me is the size of the pump. It’s quite large and reasonably heavy, not as portable as the Spectra which I could walk around with and pump if need be but this is not a major concern as I would usually sit to pump. The size would be my only criticism, otherwise it works perfectly well and I was able to pump enough milk for my baby in the same time it would take her to feed, about 6 minutes on one side. I would recommend this breast pump to friends if they didn’t need something super portable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely adore this breast pump I dont think I can go back to my old one now, I’ve always used electric breast pumps and they end up leaving my nipples sore when Im finished, I love the Nuk Nature Sense because even after pumping a while or double pumping my nipples are not sore at all, I also find I don’t get the red mark around my boob from the flange part I love that it has bendable soft silicone cushioning feels so comfortable, So many options for pumping as well I love the memory function so amazing for this tired mumma! The unit itself was alot larger then I expected but that is probably because I compared it to my previous one it has such amazing battery life and is easy to walk around with, I also love how the end pieces of the pipe are soft as well feels more secure and less breakable Its so quiet I can pump next to sleeping bub with no problems I was shocked how silent it is, the rechargeable battery is amazing for on the go as well I even took it with me when I went to Dreamworld and pumped in the car, super easy to clean I’m so impressed with this breast pump I cannot fault it at all if your considering purchasing just do it you will be so glad you did :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already own a Meleda freestyle flex pump but I hated using it with a passion. I am unsure if it is becoz of the 2 flange sizes included were not the right fit for me but one thing I hated was the hard flanges. When I opened the nuk, first impressions were that there were less parts. The 2nd was the silicone insert for the flange - I do feel like it made a difference. It was easy to assemble as there was literally just the duck bill attachment, the bottle, the silicone insert and the tubing. I guess coz I already own a breast pump, it was easy for me to put together. Despite it not having a “letdown” function, it was able to get the milk out. It seemed easier. In the 8 mins I pumped, I was able to get 60mls. This may not seem like a lot but I am not pumping as regularly as I did before. I was hardly using my old pump becoz it was giving me nothing. It only worked when I felt “full”. My routine has changed so I only pump whilst my husband pumps. So this amount is okay for me as I also collect milk during the night when I wake up to feed baby with my haakaa. The nuk pump itself is pretty simple and easy to using. I only use the mid range for both speed and suction. The con for me is although it’s supposed to be portable. The machine itself is large and heavy if I compared that to my medela freestyle flex. The other con is you have to hold it against your boob.. I could try using a bra to be more hands free but for only 8 mins of pumping, I was ok about it.. i just have to hold it firmly against my boob so it doesn’t leak .. as I don’t want to create more laundry for myself. Who has time for that? Also I feel like I have to lean forward slightly so the milk flows down into the bottle collector. In terms of noise- it’s quite loud when you pick it up. If you leave it on your counter, it absorbs the noise. I would recommend this pump to mums who don’t pump as often / only needs to pump for short amount of time or don’t like hard flanges. The silicone insert is a win for me, it’s very comfortable. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. But since having it on Wednesday, I’ve been using it once at night and it does what I need it to do!

This pump helped me pump milk easily with less noise compared to hospital grade pump. Compact and easy to use.

The design of the flange results in milk all over the flange. With each “pump” milk drips out of the flange and all over your clothing including the floor below. It’s not just a little but. It’s a lot. Very bad design.

Being a first time mumma I wasn’t sure on what pump would suit my needs but this breast pump has gone beyond my expectations. I loved the different speeds and suction strengths which I found useful for different parts of the day when my milk supply was different. My milk supply is plentiful and I believe this pump has helped sustain that. The charging is easy and I get about a full day of expressing (6x15 mins sessions) out of it. I’ve never had an issue with any of it mechanically and highly recommend this brand. Definitely worth the price!
